I will be Your God

NEW EVERY MORNING

Psalm 127

The words of this Psalm reflect on successful work, and Who is in control of work being successful.  So, listen up struggling students who were working hard in the field yesterday.  Today, you are building a house and there are some reflective questions you need to ask yourself.  Why are you working so hard?  and Who are you working for?

Perhaps you have not given much thought to these questions because you follow the path that is expected of you by your parents and others.  Parents are directly involved in things that affect you since you are still dependent on them for assistance as you are working towards independence.  Are you where you are because of your parents expectations?  There is nothing wrong with that, but your work will not be successful if this is your motivation.

Unless your hard work is solely for the Lord your work is weakened by wrong motives.

Are you writing a paper to get the good grade? Or are you writing a paper to glorify God?  Why are you studying for the final exam? – to pass the class with a high grade, or to glorify God?  The concept of glorifying God as motivation for your work really changes the perspective.

The second verse of this Psalm states the problem of wrong motives.  It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil, for he gives to his beloved sleep.  When you can remove yourself from the picture and place your work in the eternal perspective of glorifying God, anxious toil no longer exists and you can find rest.

So, glorify and enjoy God today as you diligently work, then rest in Him when the work is completed.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
