I will be Your God

NEW EVERY MORNING

James 5:19-20

The last two verses of this book give a final responsibility for doers of the Word.  God’s children are to hold each other accountable to the Truth of God’s Word.  There are philosophies and systems of life that can pull godly people away from foundational truth, causing them to sin.  The effect of their error can also cause other people to sin.

In order to be one who holds others accountable to God’s Truth, you must know and understand God’s Word.  This requires hearing and studying Scripture.  An opinion of what God says in His Word is dangerous because it can mute the truth.  Studying God’s Word is a commitment of the heart that requires time.  But, the outcome is knowledge that can be used in changing the lives of others.

   Ask yourself these questions:

·        How do I spend time in God’s Word?

·        What tools do I use to assist me in understanding what I read?

·        Do I ask questions of Christian leaders when I don’t understand what I am reading

·        Do I memorize Scripture passages so I can refer to them easily when I speak about God’s Word with others?

As you glorify and enjoy God today, ask Him to give you the desire and discipline to study His Word.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
