NEW EVERY MORNING

Psalm 119:81-88

   This is the prayer of a persecuted child of God crying out for relief from those who are causing him harm.  The insolent have dug pitfalls for me; they do not live according to Your Law. They persecute me with falsehood.  They have almost made an end of me on earth.  Help me!  How long must Your servant endure?  When will You judge those who persecute me?   When will You comfort me?

 

   These are questions that have been asked many times by God’s people as they long for God’s salvation from difficult situations because of their faith.  As smoke causes wineskins to be wrinkled, worn, and covered with soot, so is the condition of those who are persecuted for their faith.

 

   God’s child responds with one request and these statements of commitment.

·        Give me life in Your steadfast love that I may keep all Your commandments

·        My soul longs for Your salvation

·        I hope in Your Word

·        My eyes long for Your promise

·        I have not forgotten Your statutes

·        All Your commandments are sure

·        I have not forsaken Your precepts

   May God remind you of His faithfulness in all your circumstances as You glorify and enjoy Him today.
