NEW EVERY MORNING

Psalm 119:145-152

   These verses are a prayer about  prayer.  The how, what, when, and why of prayer are described here.

 

   How to pray:

·        With my whole heart I cry, answer me, O Lord

·        I call to You

·        I cry for help

·        I hope in Your words

·        I meditate on Your promise

 

   What to pray (commitments, requests, and praise):

·        I will keep Your statutes

·        Save me that I may observe Your testimonies

·        You are near, O Lord

·        All Your commandments are true

·        Give me life

·        Your testimonies are eternal

 

   When to pray:

·        I rise before dawn

·        Before the watches of the night

 

   Why pray:

·        Because of God’s steadfast love (mercy)

·        Because of God’s justice

·        Because those who persecute me with evil purpose far from Your law draw near to me

·        Long I have known from Your testimonies that You have founded them forever.  (You are faithful and I can trust in You)

 

AMEN!
