NEW EVERY MORNING
In these verses Jesus is telling those people who are accusing Him of claiming to be equal with God that, ‘they ain’t seen nothing yet!’ If they thought healing a crippled man was awesome, a day was coming when all dead men would walk out of their tombs to begin their eternal destinies. WOW! What an amazing thought!

NEW EVERY MORNING
Throughout His ministry Jesus was confronted with two types of people. There were those who recognized their need for what Jesus offered, and there were those who felt Jesus was intruding into their power and authority. Jesus takes time to explain Himself to this second group of people who were intent on killing Him.

The man Jesus healed was found in the temple, probably praising God as he had never done before in his life. His praise is contrasted with the criticism of the Jews; people who knew the Scripture, but whose hearts had not been changed by God’s Word.

These verses exemplify the constant tension between physical and spiritual needs. The disciples were concerned about Jesus eating for physical sustenance. Jesus was concerned about the souls of the Samaritans who were being born again because of their faith in Him.
Time, energy level, and surroundings are some of the physical concerns that decrease the attention we give to spiritual development.
Staying focused on Jesus in His Word and spending time with Him in prayer prevents being controlled by the physical.
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Glorify God today as you enjoy spending time with Him.

NEW EVERY MORNING
These verses are a lesson in worship. Jesus speaks of the who, how, and why of worship. The Samaritan woman was waiting for the Messiah, the One who would tell her all things. Jesus shows He is the Messiah by telling her about her many husbands. He is the One to worship in spirit and in truth because He is God.
Not everyone can worship God, because those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. We were all created in God’s image to worship Him, but our sinful hearts make worship impossible. God’s truth brings confession and forgiveness. We are born again and God’s image is restored. Now right worship is possible in spirit and in truth.
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Glorify and enjoy God today as you worship Him in spirit and in truth.

NEW EVERY MORNING
Here is an account of an ordinary person doing the ordinary activities of life when suddenly her life is changed forever. She meets Jesus. This was not a random meeting of chance, but a meeting that was planned by her Creator before she was born. We only know her as the Samaritan Woman or the Woman at the Well.
Just as He did with Nicodemus (John 3), Jesus uses the common everyday forces of life to show her spiritual needs. You cannot live without being born, and you cannot live without water. The Samaritan Woman’s spiritual thirst was satisfied by Jesus, the Living Water.
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Enjoy the Living Water today as you glorify God in the ordinary activities of life.

He was getting in the way of what John was doing. He must increase and I must decrease was John’s view of Christ. Do you ever feel that the things Christ calls you to do cause inconvenience and get in the way of what you want to do?
