NEW EVERY MORNING

John 7:40-51

     Jesus creates societal conflict.  In these verses people were trying to figure out who Jesus was.  Some said He was the Prophet written of in Scripture.  Others argued that this was impossible since He was from Nazareth in Galilee, and the prophecy said the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. 

 

     The Jewish leaders had their own issues with the arresting officers who came back without arresting Jesus.  They were concerned that religious leaders were beginning to take Jesus seriously.  In this group of leaders was a man who, in the shadow of night, met with Jesus.  Nicodemus defended Jesus by reminding them that the law required a hearing before judgment.

 

     The response of the leaders to Nicodemus and the people was, that they were all ignorant of Scripture and the law.

      What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?

 

      Glorify and enjoy God today as you represent Him in society.
