AWE FACTOR LIVING
The awe factor lives within the societal justice system knowing that God is sovereign. Paul’s life seemed to be a pawn in the hands of the Roman governors. Felix, who knew Paul’s case, was replaced by Festus. After he was in office for three days Festus visited Jerusalem where he met the Jewish leaders who asked if Paul could be returned to Jerusalem. They probably did not let Festus in on their plans for Paul.
Rather than send Paul to Jerusalem, Festus invited the Jewish leaders to Caesarea to state their case against Paul. They brought many serious charges against Paul which they could not prove’ and against which Paul defended himself. Festus, who wanted to keep the Jewish leaders happy, attempted to send Paul back to Jerusalem where he would be tried by Jewish law and not the Roman court.
Paul made a request that affected the rest of his life. I appeal to Caesar. The governor responded, To Caesar you have appealed; to Caesar you shall go. This annoying Jewish conflict was heading for Rome.
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Glorify and enjoy God today as you live within the laws of society.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
