Proverbs contrasts two types of people and two lifestyles. Chapter one introduces these. There are different names that are given to each. As you read this chapter today, look for the words that describe these people types. What personal qualities do these words show?
¨ Fools despise wisdom and instruction (7)
¨ If sinners entice you, do not consent (10)
¨ How long, O simple ones will you love being simple? (22)
¨ How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing? (22)
¨ How long will fools hate knowledge? (22)
When wisdom calls to these people they refuse to listen and ignore the communication from wisdom. Because of their hate for knowledge as described in verse 7, they are destroyed by their turning away and complacency.
Whoever listens to Wisdom will dwell secure and will be at ease, without the dread of disaster. (33)
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Glorify and enjoy the God of all Wisdom today.
