Proverbs 1:7 Real Knowledge
Verse 7 is our focus today. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. This principle sums up the source of all truth. To fear the Lord means to understand who He is and to respond to this understanding in reverence. This is the Gospel in Proverbs. No one is wise who does not have their faith placed in Christ as their Savior. You can attempt to apply all of the practical knowledge in the book of Proverbs but are still a fool if your faith is not in Christ.
Jesus compared the wise man and the foolish man. The wise man took care in selecting a firm foundation upon which to build. The foolish man carelessly built on a foundation that could constantly move and shift with the forces that were brought upon it. Without the Lord being the foundation of your wisdom, you are a fool.
Real knowledge is lived in the context of the answers the following questions.
¨ Who is God? (what are his attributes)
¨ Who am I? (what are my attributes)
¨ How can I have saving faith in God?
What is God telling you about Himself and how should you respond?
Glorify and enjoy God today as you live in His knowledge.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
