Revelation / Response Bible Reading
REVELATION/RESPONSE
One Way to Understand God’s Word
Many people do not spend time reading the Bible because they think it is hard to understand. There are long lists of names, big words, and complicated theology within the pages. It does not seem to make sense.
Forget theology and geneology, and come to the Bible desiring to know what God wants to tell you about Himself in what you are reading – Revelation. Write these thoughts in a journal.
Then ask yourself what the passage says about how you should respond to what God says about Himself – Response. Sometimes it is clearly stated. Sometimes it is based on what you know about God. Write these thoughts in your journal.
End your time in God’s Word asking God to help you apply what you have read to your life.
When you come across a word or concept you don’t understand you can go to www.blueletterbible.org and find many resources to help you, or you can go to your pastor or Christian leader and ask for help.
The journal you keep when you are in God’s Word becomes a record of God’s faithfulness to you, His child. Come to the Bible expecting to find God speaking to you.
